I myself have been incarcerated and have never known any facility to be so poorly run and with disregards basic human living conditions except NEWPORT!
Poor inmate living conditions. While I'm positive correctional officers, warden caseworkers and any other paid worker in this poorly run facility has zero consideration for inmates and are working in well maintained offices that provides air conditioning or cool air in hot humid weather while inmates are force to be over heating in high temperatures. They are allowed out one half hour per day and some units force inmates to be out of cell for 40 minutes at a time every other hour . Would you want your loved one have to endure this treatment or you yourself? I don't believe so
Now I do know that a inmate is incarcerated for breaking laws set in place for public security this facility is required to house inmates with extremely poor livimg conditions and this facility is the only one in the state of Vermont. You or any victim are intitled to feel how ever you do towards the inmate that has affected your life in some way but consider if someone in your family was in Newport facility getting one small cup of ice in hot humid conditions, allowed only half hour per day for outside recreation and forced to be treated deplorably.
