Worst dinning experience ever! Food was good, service was terrible and by terrible I mean terrible. It took 2 hours to get 2 salads, an order of potstickers and steamed clams. Then I had to ask twice for the bill, gave them an AMEX card and that turned into a whole thing at which point the owner called the Newport Police on me. The owner seemed off his rocker, which is too bad, because the food was good. Cops when I asked if the owner was a wack job seemed to nod their heads in agreement. Do your self a favor and drive right past this place.
Our server, Michelle, was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Excellent food. Great atmosphere!
Had the fabulous wild boar pasta. Hope they put the duck on the menu soon. If so it will hold me until I'm back in the best place to summer next year.
My husband and I recently visited Lago for a nice night out and were not impressed. Although the server we had was wonderful and attentive and the food was delicious, the atmosphere has changed since our last visit. With this being mainly the only upscale restaurant in the Newport area, you would think that they would expect a certain type of respect and composure from their employees as well as patrons in the dining room area. Instead, my husband and I listened to a table of gentleman (I use that word lightly) sit at a nearby table and use the "F" word as if it was going out of style. I didn't think it could have gotten worse until their waitress starting playing along and feeding into the behavior has well, I believe she was the bar tender. We would have probably stayed longer and enjoyed dessert or just time together since going out is a rare occasion and a treat for us if it wasn't for these individuals. I hope that the staff can learn from this feedback and be willing to tell their patrons that if they want to discuss/talk in the manner that they can sit in the bar area especially since you could easily spend over $100 on a meal here.
I had the fruit glazed salmon special. It was delicious! The salmon had a slight bite to its taste with a nice balance of sweet. The martinis are fun to try. Many flavors
